Local Beaches

Crantock Beach

Fistral Beach

An expanse of golden sand, great for surfing and building sandcastles!

Dog friendly – with no restrictions.

Two large carparks on entry, one a National Trust car park complete with toilet and water sports hire shop. The other a privately owned car park (good for long stays) just on the right before the main National Trust car park – complete with shop, café, and toilets.

Cafes in the form of army trucks and ice cream shacks are dotted near the main access points to the beach.

Fistral Beach Newquay has become cemented as the home of British surfing with the consistency and quality of the surf that it enjoys.

Surfer’s and spectators alike enjoy the location from beautifully calm days to the adrenaline filled days where Cornwall’s big wave the Cribbar is being surfed by the hardiest of surfers.

Fistral Beach has an extensive RNLI lifeguard presence from April until October, with busy weekends at the start of winter still patrolled.

Parking is available at the beach and also in surrounding car parks, included some great council options accessible through the golf course.

The beach has multiple access points, the ‘main’ access by the complex and car park (nearest the Headland Hotel), the Pentire Headland end, with step stepped access (by generally the quieter end) or through the middle, by walking through the golf course sunken path arriving over the dunes.

Up in the complex, you’ll find several surf shops and eateries, including Rick Steins chip shop, The Stable pizza place, Fistral Beach bar and Sea Food restaurants. At the far end of the beach, Sea Spray is open during the daytime serving beach snacks.
